Kumba Iron Ore, South Africa's largest iron ore manufacturer is seeking the opportunity to develop iron ore in Western Africa in order to expand its production.
In fact, the firm previously considered developing some Greenfield projects in Guinea, West Africa and Senegal; however, it failed.
Mr. Chris Griffith, the Chief Executive Officer of Kumba Iron Ore said that the firm has been looking for opportunities to develop mines in Western Africa.
He indicated that the iron ore production at its owned Sishen iron ore mine in South Africa may remain flat this year while the iron ore output in Kolomela may increase to 6 million tons this year from 4.5 million tons in a year earlier
